Hajj Abdullah Ayoub, 77, is a man who has devoted his life to education, has taught generations of students, and has taught in many countries around the world. Hajj Abdullah appeared in a video clip waiting in line for food at a food distribution center in the Gaza Strip—a scene that encapsulates the extent of the suffering endured by our people in the Strip. Hajj Abdullah lives with his wife, his widowed daughter—whose husband was martyred—and the wife of his martyred son, both of whom lost their husbands in this war. This great man, who was once a beacon of learning and knowledge, now stands in a food line, having lost everything he owned, facing the harsh realities of life amid the dire humanitarian conditions endured by the people of the Gaza Strip. What kind of pain is this that forces a man who taught generations to stand today, waiting for a morsel to satisfy his hunger? الحاج عبد الله أيوب، 77 عامًا، رجلٌ أفنى عمره في التعليم، وخرّج أجيالًا من الطلاب، ودرّس في العديد من دول العالم. ظهر الحاج عبد الله في مقطع مصوّر وهو ينتظر الحصول على الطعام في طابور إحدى التكايا في قطاع غزة، في مشهدٍ يلخّص حجم المعاناة التي يعيشها أهلنا في القطاع. يسكن الحاج عبد الله مع زوجته وابنته الأرملة التي استُشهد زوجها، وزوجة ابنه الشهيد، بعد أن فقدتا زوجيهما في هذه الحرب. هذا الرجل العظيم، الذي كان يومًا منارةً للعلم والمعرفة، يقف اليوم في طابور الطعام، بعد أن فقد كل ما يملك، ليواجه قسوة الحياة في ظل الظروف الإنسانية الصعبة التي يعيشها أهالي قطاع غزة. أيُّ وجعٍ هذا الذي يجعل من علّم الأجيال يقف اليوم منتظرًا لقمةً تسدّ جوعه؟
