You misrepresent and simplify CKs beliefs. Anti intellectualism? Feel free to explain without using his argument that college is a scam. He believed in lifelong learning and education outside of college. He believed that college was necessary for certain disciplines. Emotionalism? Please provide evidence of that other than his passionate defense of his beliefs. Of course people have feelings about their beliefs. Sectarianism because he had strong beliefs in religion? I didn’t agree with all his views but I understood where his views were coming from and why he believed. Identify markers - like most of society nowadays with people checking off boxes for all the internalized marginalized identities that they wear on their sleeves like badges of honor saying look at me and how mistreated I am by everyone who doesn’t agree with my views. CK wasn’t perfect and misspoke or made false statements at times. But even you recognized that Christianity was a significant influence on the founding fathers. Even more so by many of the leaders in the 13 territories. Regardless, his argument for getting back to our roots was for us to get back to the strength of the nuclear family, and of course his religious beliefs. I completely agree with him that many problems in society today are in great part due to the loss of the nuclear family. I am not religious, but I can see that religion provides a framework for people to live their lives with purpose and direction. Something many people have lost or never had. Which is why so many people are depressed, anxious, angry, and/or disassociated which has in turn led to violent and suicidal behaviors. Including the man who murdered CK.
