Animal Behaviorist here. This is far more common than you think and can be so traumatic. My heart goes out to you and Whimsy. Trigger stacking is a very real thing and can cause reactions like this. You are doing great and I know Muddy Paws and you will help her in the best way possible ❤

As she gains her weight, her personality and energy will change and morph. That’s to be expected. You just gotta roll with the punches and learn her new behaviors. Fostering is never dull! Lol! You got this and so does Whimsy!

People used to ask my mother if our dog bites, she always answered, "not yet," until a dog is in a situation, especially a dog with a past, you'll never know how they react. Now you know, it is incredibly unfortunate, and traumatic, but now it can be worked with.

Whimsy has PTSD. We give humans grace when they are suffering from trauma....We need to give fur babies the same grace, understanding and make the adjustments needed to make their lives joyful.

Whimsy just sitting there looking up at you with her little spine showing. Her little ears back, wanting your love. She had a moment and she is with the best person for her because anyone who knows you, KNOWS you love these animals. She will come out better than ever. I have no doubts
