I loveeee when people get mad at me for driving slow then once when one ran out in front of me and I had enough time to stop the guy behind me had to swerve to not hit me, let’s say he GAPPED and drove slow after that

I thought we had a lot of deer in Maine where i’m from, was in PA over the weekend and HOLY we almost hit so many at night, and the highway is covered in deer carcasses!! Wild to see

My mom and I went up to bushkill a couple of weeks ago and literally counted about 23 different dead deer on the side of the roads going up and coming back home. I’ve never seen so many in one day 😕

even if the deer is fully across the road or not in the road. slow way down they can sometimes get scared and jump back into you or like she said they have followers. followers are very common

and this is how we ended up having to buy a new car last fall! 🫠 did not enjoy my husband waking me up at 6am asking me for the phone number for our insurance and saying his car was totaled.

But also, don't swerve. If you're going to hit a deer, hit the deer. If you have comprehensive coverage on your insurance a deer strike is covered under that. If you swerve and hit something else (tree, guard rail, etc) then it's a collision claim and is considered an "at-fault" accident.

the past 3 months i’ve had 3 injured deer show up to my house bc they all got hit by cars and i’ve had to call police to come put them down each time 🥲(i live next to a busy road)
