@quarkexpeditions: Emperor penguins 🐧 are the largest penguin species of all and the only species that breed in the winter, usually forming colonies on sea ice! 🧊 They engage in complex courtship rituals, followed by brief copulation. The female lays one egg during May or June and transfers it to the male for incubation 🥚 Meanwhile, she embarks on a nine-week feeding journey at sea.
