Every time I see a “greatest guitarist” list that doesn’t have Jimi at the top, I laugh. Because he was the first to do it this way. There is something to be said to come up with the idea to play this way and then to execute it so consistently flawlessly. To see it, build on it and then execute it, is and will always be something less.
