We become triggered when a person or situation reminds us of something from your past. Feeling disrespected by someone triggers everyone to a lesser or greater degree. People who have mastered emotional management and have taken time to explore their triggers can regulate in the moment and ensure they remain in control, NOT their emotions. Part of this mastery is depersonalising other people’s behaviour. Someone disrespected you is about them not you. The more you personalise it, the more triggered you will be.
