@rnbpost: Michelle Mouton - the best racer of the 80s Michelle Mouton - the “Black Volcano” of 80s rallying, the only woman to win WRC rounds. Born in 1951 on the French Riviera to a florist, she studied medicine but at 22 got behind the wheel of a Renault Alpine and never looked back. In 1981 Audi recruited her for Group B - the insane 500+ hp era. Mouton demanded no favors: “I’m not a female driver, I’m a driver.” Her co-driver was Italian Fabrizia Pons, the duo’s “brain.” While Michelle flew at 200 km/h on gravel, Fabrizia called corners 10 seconds ahead. Together they scored 4 wins: Sanremo ’81 (Pons’ home turf!), Portugal, Acropolis, Brazil. In 1982 Mouton finished runner-up in the WRC, losing to Walter Röhrl by just 12 points. At Pikes Peak ’85 she set the track record in an Audi Quattro S1 - 11.2 km of dirt and cliffs in 11:25. Today her face graces 80s posters, TikTok phonk edits, and fans’ hearts. Mouton proved speed has no gender. #rally #wrc #groupb #Motorsport #racer

Emanuel automobilista :
For many, when she entered rallying she was just a woman, but in 1985 when she became a rally driver she beat all the best drivers of the time.
