It is an unfortunate situation but we all decided to collectively leave. No one is to blame but by the time they realized the magnitude of the situation it was already too late. All flights to anywhere was fully booked.

Nope, nope, no, no, no. That storm (like many hurricanes) was an insignificant, no big deal tropical storm (pretty common) on Wednesday. By Friday it was still a storm that was predicted to affect Jamaica, and quickly developed into a Cat 3 hurricane on Saturday then a Category 5 hurricane from overnight from Sunday to Monday. So no, not enough time and people didn’t know about the hurricane “for a while”.

It really wasn’t that big of a deal. There’s a lot of people who are there who are stuck in Jamaica who went there for a trip. It was supposed to be just a tropical storm.

They didn't have to wait to rebook... They may have needed to wait until they left- but they could have gotten a ticket on a later flight early on.

I was there. 1. No one forced them to stay. 2. The minute the staff sat us down and alerted us about what happens at the airport when a storm is declared a hurricane, a few of us changed our flights immediately. Since it wasn’t officially declared a hurricane some of the girls weren’t changing their flights. It was until their flights got canceled that everyone had a little sense of urgency.

they all should have booked flights out… any flight to anywhere else… at the same time. waiting to book your flight until after people have left is…. certainly a choice.

OK, I understand where you’re coming from, but this hurricane was not expected to be as bad as it turned out. Me personally, I would never book a vacation, knowing that a storm is coming. But Jamaica get storms all the time. That turned into a cat five in less than 24 hours. This time around, I don’t blame people who are stuck down there. I’m sure they did more than what was disclosed on the video.

Everyone has free will and a lot of people have no sense of urgency because they’ve never gone through storms like this before. Whether they live in the northern part of the country or Midwest, they genuinely do not think it’s as big of a deal because they’ve never experienced it or they’re trying to think positively of “it’ll be fine”
