just additional infro from someone that has experienced(and survived) DIFFUSE THINNING.Yes,it could happen because of something traumatic or an illness BUT it could also be vitamin defficiency.Get a blood test.It could also be hormonal imbalances(only in people during puberty(specifically age 17) and you can get tested for that too

I just stopped using shampoo or anything on my hair. Just wash with water regularly. The first 2 months was horrible because my hair got super oily as your hair takes times to adapt. After that I stopped losing my hair and it became silky soft.
