What if a student just wants to erase part of it? It only deletes the entire writing, picture, etc?

I got these for my daughters kindergarten class last year and the teacher loved it! She asked if it was ok for them to leave the at school. It cut down on doodle paper and they also practiced their A B C’s in class and held them up to show. Best purchase for the whole class hands down.
