Yea, so we have 15 of them for the city and we do all kinds of maintenance. Oil changes every 6 months, battery checks and replace every 3 years, air filters bla, bla, bla. 4 complete failured units under 150 hrs. Complete garbage. Brigs units are going well and were trying Kohler which are a maintenance breeze. Generac will NEVER get a recommendation. I wouldn’t install a felree one for a customer 🤷♂

We check the cold cranking amps on the battery with a battery tester. I’ve had several gens show good voltage on the controller or with a multimeter but when you test the battery for CCA it comes in low and that’s a reason why the gen won’t start. A bad battery is our most common no start call or mid year service call between annual maintenance’s.

Pro tip change the spark plugs before running the generator so you’re not dealing with hot spark plugs 😉
