The whole purpose of spring boot is to increase abstraction, that’s it!

Out of all the backend frameworks I’ve ever worked with, Spring Boot was by far the most awful

If you can learn Springboot it might just be the most productive backend of all time. It “just works” with Kotlin too so you don’t even need to mess this Java if you don’t want

1. I have used spring since 2011, 2. it is really complicated 3. It hides the inner workings in the effort to make few things easy, but actually it creates a he'll to debug anything if you don't already have extensive knowledge of the framework. 4. It appears that it helps, but I think that in long term in breaks more things. In bigger projects with SpringBoot there are always "hacks" to make it work in spring-boot way, so the complexity formula is (project complexity)*(spring boot complexity)*(spring boot induced hacks). I would rather stay with the sole "project complexity". And the sole fact that so many people get it wrong even in tutorials is the biggest testimony that SB is the problem on it's own and not that the people are not understanding it. If it is so hard to understand then it is the definition of being overcomplicated. I have 15 years of experience in Java, when there is something weird going in spring application that's a nightmare to debug, and often I can't find the cause, it is not me not knowing or being weak programmer, it is the inner complexity of spring boot. And in such cases where no one can find solution, you're pushed to use a hack, because otherwise you what would you do? Stop the production until you rewrite the whole app?

If you want to manual do the dependency and configuration hell, just go to spring :)))
