To this day the effects of that storm are still being felt . Motels along with small shore homes are disappearing only to be replaced by multi million dollar condos and homes. Beach towns pass local ordinances by restricting parking to permit parking only now the big push to end short term rentals. No worries the residents of Lakewood will take good care of it

I live in a waterfront town on the South Shore of Long Island. I had an angel watching over my house that night because we were completely fine. There was no flooding and we were one of the 90s houses on Long Island that did not lose power. I am incredibly grateful
