Look up Japanese hoarders. Japanese in general have very dirty, messy homes. In the 80s and 90s there was trash everywhere in the cities and along the countryside roads. Most Japanese will rarely if ever invite guests over to their homes. My kids never once saw their friend’s bedrooms even though they were always playing everywhere at our house. I love the people but Japanese culture is evil.

People outside Japan don't know about the grannies and grandpas hoarding wasabi packets, vinyl bags, throwaway ice packs, etc. They don't know about the cockroach infested yoshinyoa outside shin okubo station. This concept of Japanese cleanliness and minimalism is a deliberate PR export.
