I can explain - the student was referencing Locke and social contract theory where government can only govern without the consent of the governed :) I’m the advocate 😂

i refuse to teach students to “use AI responsibly”. all their other teachers are doing it. i’m paper only and make them use their brain. that being said, their essays are typed, and just as last year, i fear grading them to see how many of them used AI

My favorite recent case was a student correctly used activism in a sentence (we have not learned this) and when I asked what does it mean all they could say was “it activated something. You know. Activate.” 😅

I feel so bad because I got accused of AI once and I asked if I could re-read it because I turned the assignment in a week ago, she ended up believing that I didn’t use ai (thank goodness) but it was so embarrassing 💔

My teacher once caught like 6 kids in writing a paper with AI, because they all put the story into perspective along with an old movie that she was certain no one had seen. So she said out loud in class that if just one of those 6 could tell her what the ending of the movie was, she wouldn’t give them an F. No one could. It was such an iconic moment

that's why paraphrasing with your own words is the best option if you're really confused about the topic and you're scared to asked your teacher lol, at least ask AI what they meant by what they wrote

My favorite way to call them out is to have them read it out loud to the whole class and then I ask the class if they understood what they just heard. Almost immediately, the kid will just "re-write" their paper instead of reading it out loud.

I hate ai and everything about it but I would DEFINITLY re read my essay cuz I forget everything immediately due to my adhd. Like yeah lemme see what I was on about. I would also most likely disagree with whatever I wrote about too since I now have a fresh perspective. 😔
