Men seriously underestimate how much they can glow up if they took care of themselves properly, it’s core to living a disciplined life. And just a sidenote I really doubt UK men are representative of all men, it’s clearly a cultural issue; for example a lot of Arab countries really emphasise self care regardless of whether you’re a man or woman.

The amount of times my sister has yelled at me because my hygiene was terrible while growing up, astounding. Very happy she did too because now I have a very strict hygiene schedule. If I miss a day, I feel dirty until I do it.

Your idea of self-care seems to be overspending on useless products that do nothing. Most men practice good hygiene they just keep it simple. Not going for constant check-ups doesn’t mean neglect; it means confidence in one’s health. And shaming men for making basic hygiene products last longer is just absurd.
