Earlier this month, Arrowe Park Hospital in Birkenhead, part of Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, was forced to pause elective procedures due to “ongoing issues” with its sterile surgical equipment. The trust was forced to declare a “critical incident” after issues affecting its surgical instruments in its sterile services department. At the time of reporting, a spokesperson for the trust told the Globe “robust plans” were in place to manage the incident, including buying new surgical equipment and borrowing instruments from neighbouring NHS organisations to help ease the shortage and seeking support from other trusts.

You would expect the management to have a back up plan in the event of this incident occurring Just wondering who is made to account for patients possibly waiting for life saving surgery. Interesting to see as a public service there being little or no transparency to the outcome to senior management who have possibly let this critical incident occur. When this occurs there needs to be an independent investigation run by members of the public

it's a rundown barn of a hospital roof tiles missing all over one part when I was I birch ward looking out the window that roof will leak I've told them in an email months ago, my guess still not fixed 🤨
