I am from Sudan. Hear our voice! As I write this letter, dozens of citizens are being killed by bombing or extrajudicial killings, and others are dying of starvation due to the siege. People in El Fasher are dying in the most horrific ways. They are being exterminated for no reason. They cannot even flee to nowhere. Death looms in every corner of that city, and all I can do is tell the world this and pray for them. All this is due to the Rapid Support Forces militia. #RapidSupportForces_are_military #PrayForSudan #ElFasher_is_not_okay

Sometimes, the people who appear the strongest are the ones carrying burdens we know nothing about. They smile. They show up. They take care of others. They keep moving forward, even when life gets difficult. But just because someone looks strong on the outside doesn’t mean they aren’t struggling on the inside. Sometimes, the people who are always there for everyone else need someone to be there for them, too. Today, I’m reminding myself not to assume that someone is doing okay just because they seem to have it all together. I want to be more intentional about praying for the people in my life. The ones who are hurting. The ones facing difficult decisions. The ones dealing with illness, loneliness, grief, anxiety, or struggles they may not feel comfortable sharing. And I want to pray for the people who never ask for prayers but need them just as much. We may not know what someone is going through, but God does. We may not have the words to comfort someone or the ability to fix what they’re facing, but we can always bring them before God in prayer. I believe there is power in prayer. It may not always change a situation the way we hope, and we may not always understand God’s timing, but prayer can bring comfort, strength, peace, and hope when they’re needed most. Sometimes, the greatest thing we can do for someone is to lift their name up to God and trust Him with what we cannot see or change. Today’s challenge: Think of three people today. First, someone who always seems strong but might be carrying something heavy. Second, someone you know is going through a difficult time. And third, someone who has been on your heart lately. Pray for each of them by name. Ask God to give them strength where they feel weak, peace where they feel overwhelmed, comfort where they are hurting, and hope when the road ahead feels uncertain. You don’t have to tell them you’re praying for them. You don’t have to know all the details of their lives. Just take a few minutes and pray. And if you feel led, reach out and remind someone that they are loved and that they don’t have to face everything alone. We never know what someone is carrying behind their smile. But we can choose to carry them in our prayers. There is power in prayer, and sometimes the person who looks the strongest is the one who needs it most. That’s the journey.
