here's a penalty question: My understanding is that we're a competitive contact league. if I'm handling the puck and someone just stands in my way, if I just lower my shoulder as I continue to handle the puck and go through them, is that roughing?

Back when I played I got called for missing someone on a slash. The ref was one of my buddies dads from another team. And he ended up giving me an unsportsmanlike penalty on top. After the game when I came out of the locker room he handed me a photocopied page of the rule book with it highlighted. Never did it again and now it’s one of my favorite calls to make 😂
