اشاعتِ اسلام فرنگستان میں ضربِ کلیم ضمیر مدنیّت کا دیں سے ہے خالی فرنگیوں میں اَخُوت کا ہے نسب پہ قیام معانی: ضمیر: اندرونی حالت ۔ مدنیت: قوم ۔ فرنگیوں : انگریزوں ۔ اخوت: بھائی چارہ ۔ مطلب: اہل مغرب کی تہذیب و تمدن کی افتاد یا ذہنیت مذہب سے بالکل بیگانہ ہے ۔ ان میں بھائی چارہ کی بنیاد اسلام کی طرح کی نہیں کہ سب اہل ایمان بھائی بھائی ہیں چاہے وہ کہیں کے ہوں ۔ ان میں بھائی چارہ کی بنیاد خاندان ، قبیلہ ، نسب نسل اور وطن پر ہے ۔ باقی سارے ان کے لیے غیر اور نفرت کے قابل ہیں ۔ اسلام میں عجمی پر عربی کو اور کالے پر گورے کو اور ایک نسل و نسب کے شخص کو دوسری نسل و نسب کے شخص پر کوئی برتری نہیں جب کہ اہل مغرب کی تہذیب ہمیں کالا، گورے کے برابر اور فلاں نسل کا فلاں نسل کے برابر نہیں ہے کا سبق دیتی ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ غیر انسانی تفریق ہے ۔ بلند تر نہیں انگریز کی نگاہوں میں قبولِ دینِ مسیحی سے برہمن کا مقام مطلب: اگر ایک ہندو، چاہے وہ نیچی ذات کا کیوں نہ ہو اسلام قبول کر لے تو اسے مسلمان برادری میں برابر کی حیثیت مل جاتی ہے لیکن اگر کوئی اونچی ذات کا ہندو بھی یعنی ہندووَں کا پیشوا بھی عیسائی مذہب قبول کر لے تو اسے عیسائی اپنے برابر درجہ دینے کے لیے تیار نہیں ۔ رنگ،نسب اور نسل کی تفریق کا عقیدہ جو ان کی تہذیب کا بنیادی عقیدہ ہے انہیں ایسا کرنے نہیں دیتا ۔ اگر قبول کرے دینِ مصطفی انگریز سیاہ روز مسلماں رہے گا پھر بھی غلام معانی: سیاہ روز: جس کا مقدر تاریک ہو جائے ۔ مطلب: اگر کوئی انگریز اسلام بھی قبول کر لے تو وہ پھر بھی خود کو ایک مسلمان سے برتر سمجھے گا ۔ اس کا قومی تصور اسے خود کو مسلمان کے برابر سمجھنے سے روکے گا ۔ وہ مسلمان کو بدستور غلام، کم تر اور ہیچ بنائے رکھے گا ۔ یہ شرف، اسلام ہی کو حاصل ہے کہ وہ کالے کو، عجمی کو، ایک نیچ سے نیچ ذات والے کو گورے، عربی اور بلند ذات والے کے برابر بنا دیتا ہے ۔ . . .
