I travel on Amtrak at least once a year. I’ve taken the zephyr five times. I went two years ago on that route and actually organized a trip and took 15 of my friends. If you ever go again, let me know I’ll go with you.

I’ve done this trip three times from Cali to Chicago, Virginia, Georgia, DC. Met some great people had a blast. Don’t forget to mention when you have long stops in route you can see some marvelous scenery. Wish more people would travel by train.

Did this trip when I was 16 with my mom. Chicago to California. Then left California went up the coast to Spokane Washington, then over to Wisconsin!

I’ve been thinking about doing the trip from Chicago to Flagstaff or Seattle with my dog Einstein. I see they allow peta but I’m curious if you saw any dogs on your trip and did it seem like it would be a pain to bring your dog? Was definitely planning to get a sleeper for sure.
