@moretoloveconsignment: I want to take a moment to shout out Maggie Weber, also known as Refashioned Hippie. Most fem bodies are subjected to unsolicited comments and judgments about their appearance — and it’s awful, and cruel. Even as young girls, the comments and catcalls are constant, especially if you’re busty when you’re young. We’ve all felt that sick pit in our stomach when a stranger tells us what our body makes him think about — or what he’d like to do to us. In many ways, things are getting better, but even during our live interview together, someone decided to make a crude comment toward Maggie. It’s bad enough when this happens in general, but to leave a lewd remark on a live stream where two women were discussing inclusion, outreach work, and their small businesses — is an intentional attempt to diminish what she’s accomplished and reduce her to just a body. (In my opinion.) I wanted to say something in the moment, but it’s her show, and having watched Maggie’s channel for years, I know she knows exactly how she wants to handle trolls. I didn’t want it to come across like she couldn’t stand up for herself or needed me to step in. But I’ve thought about it since, and I still want to say something here. Maggie, I’m sorry that simply existing and living in your body inspires trolls to target you. I can’t stop it, but I can say this: you are incredible, and no one deserves that kind of treatment. @refashionedhippie
