When in doubt, give an option for both. Offer the lychee jelly, let them know what it is in simple terms, and have a little back up candy in case they say “no thank you.”.

My kids love lychee flavored snacks. But with the popularity of anime and kpop demon hunter kids would probably love it. Just say it was a favorite of yours as a kid. Definitely tell them about the coconut though, some might be allergic!

I love it, but I will say if the package doesn't have English writing on it I'd stear clear for trick or treating. parents are very cautious of what they give their kids and not being able to tell if their children can safely have it would probably get it tossed in the trash.

PLEASE. I was a kid who grew up in a place with a heavy Hmong/Vietnamese population. Someone had haw candy that they gave out and I was obsessed ever since!!

Latino kids grew up with a version of this. I would caution against the coconut just because coconut is a vaguely common food allergy.

Get it and give it as option along with an explanation that it’s your favorite treat! Kids (and adults…) are afraid to try what they don’t know. Put it in a special bowl so kids can take familiar candy and have the option to try the extra special treat so it’s exciting 🥰

give the kids an option. a friend gives the option of a potato or a piece of candy. they usually go through a couple bags of potatoes on halloween

If possible offer an option. If not then stick with the lychee. There’s some kid out there that would love something from their culture on Halloween. Saying this as someone that wished there was more spicy Mexican candy than chocolate in my Halloween bag.
