I was raised that I was blessed with a brain and body to be successful. To never be put in a situation where I’m completely dependent on someone else. I’ve also raised my daughter the same. However my marriage is equal- we split the household duties and children- he pays the majority of the bills. My husband isn’t the boss of me- he would never. We are equal and he would never expect me to ask him permission for anything. Much less me solely taking care of our home. Thanks for sharing a bit of your story. I truly find it interesting.

I raised my daughter to know how to take care of herself, never depend on a man to take care of her and to also contribute to her family, she is an RN and works everyday. She and her husband takes care of their household together. If he gets sick and is unable to work, they still have income. Don’t raise your daughters to depend on and stay in an abusive relationship because she can’t take care of herself.

So basically a tread wife is just a good wife I never knew there was a name to cause I do all this on top of working a full-time job

I’ve done all of this plus worked full time and raised our 3 boys! I’m now a nana of 7 still help with them and attend their events while still working full time. We do eat out more now and I do have a house keeper bi weekly. And before someone says your husband should make more so you could have stayed home. No I wanted to work and contribute and have my own money. My husband has made a good living and has always paid the bills. I have always contributed. We have separate checking, savings, Roth’s etc. but we both have access and are beneficiaries of each others. Of something were to happen I would be ok, because I make and have my own money. Never bee solely dependent on a man.

make sure you set money aside for yourself. I hope things work out for you but always be prepared for when he leaves.

I did too, and it wasn’t good enough. He still cheated and cheated and cheated and now we’re divorced after 40 years of marriage.

When I was younger I knew women who were "trad wives" and many felt trapped in bad abusive situations that they couldn't get out of because they didn't have their own income. I promised my self then that I would always be self reliant.

And this works for y'all. This is the way it should work. If all men were like your husband, it absolutely would work Unfortunately, not all men are like your husband...they are rare

It’s interesting to me that being a normal wife now has a name lol I grew up this way. My mom did the same. My four children do the same. I have a son who works hard and always took care of the bills, I have three daughters who did go to school and did work BUT when they had kids decided to stay home and raise their children. I am proud of them for doing so. This type of household goes really well. I am now 59 and enjoying my very peaceful life.

I prefer to be with a woman who works as hard as I do. Pays bills, cooks and cleans together. She can make sure we get self time and quiet quiet time together. Quality time with the kids planned together. We are both queens together. We are equal in our own way…

if you are going to school and them going to get a job, you are no longer trading wife, no matter how you want to spin it.

I’ve been a trad wife 38 years and love it. I did a few very short jobs outside the home and hated it. Thankfully my husband is hard worker snd makes enough money to support us.
