I had one it would turn on by itself and on high I had to have surgery to remove it they left the leads in and took out the battery I needed to have a MRI but couldn’t because of the wires so I had to have another surgery to remove them it was horrible that was 18 years ago I’ve had 7 back surgeries and 3 c sections the surgery to place it and the surgery to remove them was the worst of all of my surgeries and I have rods and screws going down my spine idk how they are now but I do know I would never do that again it was a nightmare

My neurosurgeon, who I went to see about having one implanted said hes moving more than he's putting in. He said they seem to help for a short time and then nothing. Patient's are wanting them removed after the 1st 3 years. So I decided against it.

FDA puts them in the same category as metal hip replacements meaning they have caused as many problems as hip replacements when they were metal FDA has different categories for medical equipment and they’re in the worst category

I have a friend who has had one for years. At first they will give you enough meds but, with pain meds of late and the government she barely gets any relief . It’s so terribly ,terribly sad to see someone blowing and going daily for years to the pain ridden lady she is now. Be careful.
