this might be one of sydney cbd’s most underrated spanish restaurants. 🇪🇸 i’ve walked past born by tapatio so many times… and i can’t believe it’s taken me this long to go. tucked just around the corner from hubert, this spot serves incredible tapas, authentic paella and spanish wines that you’ll still be thinking about days later. 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓌𝑒 𝑜𝓇𝒹𝑒𝓇𝑒𝒹 🥩 iberico cebo paleta (shoulder) 🌭 chorizito, sobrasada, yoghurt & honey 🥗 shaved cabbage ensalada, manchego, almond, px raisins & pan rallado 🍞 jamón, frito de pan & shaved manchego 🥔 mahón croqueta with aioli 🫑 stuffed piquillo pepper with ricotta, spinach & galmesan 🍤 grilled gamba prawn & chorizo pintxo 🥘 bomba rice paella with prawns, chicken, mussels, calamari & saffron ☕ affogato with espresso, ice cream & pedro ximénez 🍩 buñuelos (spanish doughnuts) with crema catalana & berry compote 𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓈 the smoky chorizo with the yoghurt and sweet honey was hands down my favourite bite of the night. and somehow… the cabbage salad completely stole the show 🤯 i know. cabbage. but the crunchy almonds, manchego, sweet raisins and dressing were unreal. the paella? no notes. loads of seafood. rich saffron flavour. the rice was a bit soft for my liking! but what really made the night was the service. the staff were incredible. always checking in. amazing wine recommendations. attentive without hovering. 10/10 experience. safe to say this has gone from a restaurant i’ve walked past for years… to one i’ll be recommending to everyone. save this for your next date night, girls’ dinner or when you’re craving a trip to spain without leaving sydney. 🇪🇸✨ #sydney #sydneyfood #spanishfood #paella #sydneylife
