@tcpalmnews: Splish, splish, meet Splash, a search and rescue otter. The 2-year-old Asian small-clawed otter is trained to detect human remains in bodies of water. He's part of the Peace River K9 Search and Rescue team, a Southwest Florida based non-profit. Peace River is about 55 miles northeast of Sarasota. The founder and president of the group, Michael Hadsell, introduced his star swimmer to law enforcement officials Oct. 30 at the Martin County Sheriff's Office, and explained the work he does, offering his help if ever needed. He's the first search-and-rescue otter in the world, he said, and he anticipates Splash working until he is at least 10 years old. #martincounty #tcpalm #florida #otters
