Thank you for saying this! I was told to do warm compresses 3x daily but warm compresses made my dry eye so much worse!! I told my specialist that I stopped warm compressions altogether and she didn’t want to hear that but it was killing me. I have Filamentary keratitis due to MGD and aqueous tear difficiency… puntal plugs gave me more inflammation too. Both plugs and warm compresses made my cornea and eyelid so swollen. Blood serum tears and NAC didn’t help me ether The only thing that helped so far is a bandage contact and otc tears. Waiting on scleral lenses… I have been down the rabbit hole, spent so much money and after 5 years of hell… I now have hope.,.

I’ve never heard anyone say this and have seen quite the opposite in the literature. Once your Meibomian glands have atrophied they are gone. Heat helps to kick start them and gets the meibum flowing again.

Sure but some dry eye is caused by increased screen time and their meibomian glands atrophy. You still need to perform wc and treat the other symptoms

Wow this is so right my eyes were getting worse and worse with warm compresses I just changed to Cool and I’m seeing a slight improvement of course they were recommended by my cornea specialist the warm compresses
