@stephanne221: In many ways, living with a chronic illness for the last 15 years has been the most powerful teacher in my life. I have learned *so* much about pain, grief, true radical acceptance, limits, boundaries, asking for needs, advocating for yourself, collapsing into helplessness, the freaking healthcare system, gaslighting, and very oddly — people whose identities depend on you being sick. In this post, I really wanted to introduce you to the concept of an overpowering environment. This is essentially when you need to accept defeat, things ARE stacked against you, you ARE in an unfair playing field, you have lost ground and some other more powerful force is calling the shots and in this present moment, you cannot do anything about it. This force very often can be illness, racism, sexism, fascism, poverty, famine, etc. These forces are tremendously powerful and often exist in environments where we still have pressure to pay rent, make money, lose those 20 pounds, advance in your career, make friends, etc. And I just want to say, release yourself from it. Give yourself a pass. In this moment, it is a win just to keep your heartbeating. Know that no matter what, no matter where you are in your healing and wellness, I am rooting for you. I haven’t forgotten about you. Let me pave the way ahead of you so that it is easier for you to follow if that opportunity presents itself for you. You matter and I hold you in my heart in all the posts I make about wellness, finding new peace and a higher version of you. Holding that space for you no matter where you are. Sending love ❤️🩹 #lonely #chronicillness #traumatok #selflove #therapytiktok

💙 working on getting out of a bad flare that has caused me to barely function. my house is a wreck. I often don't get to pursue long lasting joys like seeing my horse. I've been listening to KC Davis's book how to keep house while drowning on repeat recently and it's helped me keep finding radical acceptance for myself and my situation. one foot in front of the other. celebrating the small wins. change comes, this stage will pass. thank you for your message and love the new topic!

“Give yourself a pass” might be the gentlest thing I’ve read all week. We all need to hear that sometimes it’s okay to just… rest.
