In the US, many food banks pivot to Thanksgiving. That’s great, but this crisis is way bigger than they’re ready for and if they do pivot with SNAP underfunded, many will struggle more than usual.

A problem is that many communities that use SNAP are sequestered from those who could help. Neighborhoods with 100% need and different neighborhoods with 0% need in many cases. We have gone out of our way to connect with other communities to help, but many aren’t willing to do that.

What do you think is the best way to help? Went Sam’s over the weekend and picked up canned vegetables, oatmeal packets, peanut butter and jelly, canned chicken, helper meals and cereal. We will be dropping it all off at our local food pantry. But even though it’s an enormous amount of food, it feels like I should be doing more…
