4.0 has a lot of people who want to get better at the game. Also just not as many people are 4.0 and also in your area. So improvement culture is very cliquey. Everyone wants to play people who are better than them and so how well you perform at the game determines your happiness.

You’re not wrong. That’s usually the point where people decide that they either wanna get better and see how far they can go or they just want to continue playing casually. Neither are wrong. You can’t blame either group for wanting to play people with similar mindsets.
