My dad had a stroke 2 years ago, he was paralyzed on his right side and barely got his speech back. But you can hear him randomly clear as day yell FUCK 🤣 we would ask him is he ok, he will nod yes. 😭 just liked saying it I guess.

Swear words are in a different part of the brain than most other speech. My husband had a small stroke and he had aphasia with normal speech, but could swear completely clearly. The brain is so weird and interesting.

my moms a speech pathologist she actually reteaches a few cuss words first to give the patient something “comforting” and “normal” to say when it gets more challenging later on 🫶🏻🫶🏻

This just gave me the best memories of my mom, dad and I in dad's room together after his stroke. It was an emotional time but we were also having some hilariously funny moments.
