Pls do it!!! Whether it’s from a friend or from a shelter and even the street is great! There are many kitties who don’t get to go to a good home or a home at all. Also pet insurance is a thing!

Just keep in mind it's your responsibility..i had family dogs growing up so i thought i knew how to take care of my own pets but i didn't realize how much actually goes into it when it's all yours! plus later inconveniences like finding a pet friendly place, constant vacuuming, allergies or leaving overnight type of situations. also you mentioned the vet.. cats are very prone to all kinds of sickness like uti's, ibs, etc etc that can seemingly come out of no where! it's seems super easy until you realize you're only on year 2 out of 10/15!! - from someone that rescued 3 cats at freshly 18 while trying to move out!! I STRONGLY regret not waiting longer!!
