I feel this pain. I had an urgent referral for an endocrinologist due to suspected thyroid cancer. It took me three months to see a specialist. And that was after I kept searching for providers 😢

Make sure you ask to be put on the cancellation list!!!! Call and check in frequently. This is horrible.

I’m paying $400 per month but deductible is $5000 with a 60/40 co-pay after the deductible

it took me a year to get in with my specialist in the US so if we gotta wait anyway at least let it be free

I think there also needs to be more incentive to become a doctor. No one wants hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt on top of 80+ hour work weeks. Make education cheaper, pay residents more, make healthcare more accessible 💙💙💙

My son has an autism assessment in May we submitted in August for it. It took me 8 months to get a rheumatologist appointment just for them to cancel.

I'm just never going to go see the dental specialist I'm supposed to .. because it's $3,000. So literally any wait would be better than "never at all"

I have Crohn’s, it was easier to try and get me into a clinical trial than to deal with getting me onto a new medication through insurance after I failed my third treatment in the last year. It’s insane how they can treat people.

When I was in a ✨mental health crisis✨ I had to wait a month to be seen. I literally don’t know how I made it tbh.

My son has ARFID and at one point was pretty badly underweight. The wait list for feeding therapy was over a year long.

People just don’t get it. We still have all of the problems of a universal healthcare system with a price gouged private healthcare system. A universal healthcare system would force privatized healthcare to lower the cost, and many Americans could still choose to pay the privatized healthcare price if they needed to rush something.

Took me 3 months to get diagnosed with Lymphoma after an x ray at urgent care showed a larger than a softball sized mass pushing on my artery and airway

I waited ~6 months for a referral to see a psychiatrist and ~8 months to see a neurologist. I hate it here!

I'm from Spain living in NY. and even though the US has many great things the health system is not one of them. I pay 400$ a month insurance for a level of care that is no better to what I would get for free over there. insurance over there is 100€ a month and that would actually get me faster visits/better facilities etc

PT 2 months, spine specialist 3 months, sleep apnea test 4 months, neurologist 8 months. All of these are horrible but it's worse to think how much I pay for this, if you are gong to make me wait this long the least they can do is make it free

They bring up seeing specialists and I know this is cherry picking, but I live in South Korea and I’ve had no issues seeing a specialist. You just make an appointment. Life is easier with universal healthcare

it just scares the shit out of me that people want to trust the GOVERNMENT to control our healthcare. like, it’s already a mess and insurance is hard to deal with… you want to pay the government MORE to handle HEALTHCARE TOO?? that’s scarier than any scary movie i’ve ever seen😭

I waited 8 months for an urgent referral for possible cancer. Thankfully it turned out to be this weird gray area called Smoldering Myeloma. I'm worried that if they end the ACA pre-existing illnesses protections that I'll be unable to get insurance
