If you want to save money on Amazon, first thing to do is cancel your Prime membership. I worked an event last week (corporate audio) that was a conference about digital advertising and the keynote speaker said that the average Prime member spends $1200+ per year on Amazon while the average non member spends less than $100.

I broke my addiction to Amazon early this year and ive saved so much money. Once you stop using it, you realize how much you dont need it. I think ive spent like $100 total on Amazon this year. I used to spend thousands. Absolutely horrible company, I cant believe I gave them business for so long.

Additionally, they use dynamic pricing based on your repeated interest. Same thing airlines are famous for: keep looking at an item = price gets increased/fake out of stock

I cancelled Amazon 3 years ago when I realized all the prices are fake and based on how much they think I’d be willing to pay. All the other items were just from resellers who bought cheap items to mark up.

there is an extension for chrome, called klarna i think. it shows the price changes the whole year for any item on amazon.

They also remove reviews if you insinuate you got a fake/off brand product, EVEN IF YOU DID GET A FAKE. Happened to me twice with different items

for me the prices are almost always exactly the same as whatever retail price they would be from the original seller or whatever market would find it at. the difference is that I get free shipping so it does in fact cut that price down a little bit. but yes they do be lying
