It’s Goin’ Dine By: Root Doctor Kye “Goin’ Dine” by Quiet Money Pot is a song about Southern motion. Throughout the South, the phrase “it’s going down” meant what it meant 😉. I don’t have to say it. People are gathering. Work is getting done. Plans are popping off. Businesses are opening. The community is ALIVE with motion. Houston culture, Southern slang, and regional pride is a principle that applies far beyond Texas: momentum. Progress is the moment we decide to move. Prayer by itself doesn’t complete the work. Prayer has always been connected to action. Our ancestors prayed while planting crops, washing clothes, cooking meals, traveling long roads, raising children, and building communities. Their faith didn’t remove the responsibility to work. It strengthened their ability to keep working. At some point, every prayer has to become movement. Every petition, preparation. Every vision, action. One line that immediately stood out to me was, “Southside gotta get it how you live.” This song reflects the reality of one community, but it also speaks to a truth a lot of us understand. Life doesn’t wait on conditions that are perfect. We learn to use what we have, where we are, while continuing to move toward something greater. That’s one of the reasons Hoodoo has always been a practical tradition. Our ancestors didn’t wait until they had everything they wanted before they started building the life they wanted. They worked with the land beneath their feet, the tools in their hands, and the opportunities available in front of them. The chorus repeats, “It’s going dine.” I hear movement has already started. Don’t spend months saying you are going to write the book, clean the house, organize the business, apply for the job, or start the healing journey. There comes a time when the conversation has to end and the work has to start. The first Universal Law reflected in this song is the Law of Vibration. Everything is in motion. Nothing is completely still. Stagnation isn’t just the absence of progress. It’s the absence of movement. Once you start taking intentional action, you change the rhythm of your life. The second is the Law of Rhythm. Progress isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it looks like showing up every day, taking one more step, and trusting that consistency will eventually produce results. The South has always understood this rhythm. Farmers know it. Gardeners know it. Craftsmen know it. Our ancestors knew that lasting change wasn’t created through occasional seasons of effort. It was built through steady, faithful work over time. Because of these layers, this song works well with work that breaks stagnation and creates momentum. Before pressing play, choose one thing you’ve been avoiding. It doesn’t have to be glamorous. It might be cleaning your workspace, organizing your altar, responding to emails, packing for a move, preparing inventory, writing the first page of your book, or finally making the phone call you’ve been putting off. As the music plays, let every completed action become a physical expression of forward movement. You’re not working because the song has magical power. You’re using the music to reinforce the condition you’re intentionally creating: motion. When the song ends, don’t stop moving. Look around and acknowledge what changed because you decided to act. Even if you only completed one task, you’ve already broken the pattern of waiting. Momentum isn’t built by finishing everything in one day. You are proving to YOURSELF that you’re capable of taking the next step. Tomorrow, take another. James 2:17 “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Remember, southern motion isn’t about rushing through life. You are refusing to let your prayers, dreams, and ideas stay parked in the same place. That is the work. #hoodoo #music #conjure #motion #kineticenergy
