Retired Teacher to Young Teacher: I am so proud of you for taking care of you! And yes, your students do care. When my daughter had an active shooter in her building at her university, my 8th graders surrounded me for two blocks, praying and not allowing anyone to bother me as I was getting the information I needed (and crying, naturally). They kept me sane and comforted, even the ones who often gave me flack. They saw the human part of me, and I was never ashamed of that. We see that part of them; let them see that part of us. ❤

From a teacher to a teacher - it is pretty amazing how much capacity those kids ACTUALLY have to care and take care of each other! It's so refreshing to see, especially when you're the one that needs a lil pick me up.
