@cops.cam.usa6: Part 2: DUI Arrest Turns Chaotic When Family Steps In: On June 29, 2025, officers on patrol encountered a driver passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle at a green light. Officers observed an open container in the center console and several small bags of a white powdery substance within reach. The driver showed signs of impairment and admitted his license was suspended. After completing field sobriety exercises, he was placed under arrest for DUI. As officers attempted to escort him to a patrol vehicle, several family members arrived and began interfering with the investigation. One male physically attempted to push past officers and was advised he was under arrest for battery on law enforcement. As officers moved to detain him, family members continued to interfere. A female, later identified as a relative, repeatedly approached officers and made verbal threats. She struck one officer in the shoulder with a closed fist and resisted arrest. During the struggle, she scratched the officer’s arm and hand. She was eventually placed into custody. The driver was medically cleared and transported to the police department, where he refused a breath test after observation.
