And this is how personal prejudice and lack of understanding can turn deadly. I get it, with everything that has been happening in the world (including the Bondi beach terrorist attack here in Australia), a lot of people can genuinely mistake an innocent person for a possible terrorist. This is why questions should be asked. I mean the person who called 911 wasn’t even there (according to the police video cam). This sadly wasn’t a mistake this was pure prejudice (based on what the desk clerk said, he was wearing was weird) why didn’t the desk clerk call the police? Why did she call a family member first and got them to call 911???? This man sadly deserved every penny he got. Admittedly, I think the police acted in a very professional way and secured him based on false information. The supervisor was very good at realising very quickly that they were lied to by someone who has a presiding. Just my thoughts as someone who was in the job here in Australia for many years. I have seen so much predudice from people calling in 000 (same as your 911) and lying about the situations that occur causing large scale response putting everyone in danger. We need to have more empathy and compassion. Again this is just my thoughts based on experience and everybody can have opinions and thoughts it’s just sometimes those opinions could have very deadly consequences.
