@dr.yousufzafar: This patient with pancreatic cancer considered his options, the risks, the benefits, and made a very important decision about his cancer and his chemotherapy. What would you have done? #cancer #cancertok #chemotherapy #cancersucks #oncology
America, what a terrible country. The money shouldn't be a consideration. Thank God I'm Australian

I was diagnosed January 2025. Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Doing chemo and still alive. Money shouldn’t be a factor in the decision. I am doing everything for time. Got a second opinion at UCSF and hopefully heading to MD Anderson. I’m fighting until I can’t anymore. 💪

What’s wild is that in Canada, you don’t ever have to think about the money part of that decision. Maybe it was the right call but money should never be one of the deciding factors

I am me :
My dad refused chemotherapy for his brain tumor, I was angry at first but once he explained he didn't want to spend the rest of his time being ill from side effects for the extra few months it would have given him, I understood and respected his decision

It's really sad that part of his decision was based on his insurance. How sad in a country this rich.

with my mom having cancer twice now, the 2nd time when we found out, my mom kept saying she wasn't going through treatments again. I begged and begged her to, I don't care how much, i would do what I had to to make her be here longer with me. so she did! instead of 6 months or less to live without treatment, she's going on 2 and a half years so far. Praise God!

what i don't get, you know he's right
in many occasions Chemo treatment only will add to suffering.
why do doctors offer treatment? why not be honest and telk it how it is.

Maybe the right decision but for the wrong reason. Money should not determine your level of care. 😭

My step dad has just said no to a heart procedure. He’s 86 and at high risk of dying on the table. He’s also has cancer he’s made the right decision. No surgical intervention.

My sister-in-law was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer. She had the Whipple procedure. Then started chemo. Things went really wrong. She had a heart attack. She had COVID and she didn't die from the cancer. She died from the effects of the chemo. I wish she had said no to chemo. Because she would have lived just as long but would had more quality of life. She lived four months.

Can a cyst on your pancreas cause cancer symptoms? I have a 6cm cyst and I’m having severe back pain which I’ve never had before with pancreatitis. I’m waiting for a letter for treatment

I had pancreatic cancer tumour 2.2cm. It was removed with no spread. I was offered adjuvant chemo and started it, but decided to hold off after 3 rounds. I want a second opinion and not prepared to put myself through this for very little benefit and major side effects that may be permanent.

I think it's everyone's individual choice. I was 52 when I had cancer for the 2nd time. I have 3 daughters who are my absolute reason for living. I chose radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a 17hr operation. I am here to see my girls hopefully have their own family and be happy. I made the right choice for me xxx
