Dont buy water heaters from homedepot, especially has because they have the Honeywell digital.. Buy from your local plumbing supply company who have the Mechanical White Roger's gas control valves.

I will not install a Rheem even if it is customer bought over the bad gas valve that they would not warranty on a 8 week old water heater

AO Smith and Bradford White had bad gas valves about 8 years ago. All tank WH suck after they changed them in 2003

u too bro, rheem gas valve had to replace about 50, they paid for maybe 10 then that stopped, but hey got the parts for free. Didn't want to lose customers over it but done with rheem .

I’ve used AO and Bradford in my buildings. AO lasts longer and gives me a heads up when to replace. Bradford will just blow out
