I have a question! Last week we had a plumbing company come out because we were having problems with water coming up out of our shower drains. Thankfully they were able to fix the cause of the issue, however, my husband opened the clean out pipe yesterday and noticed we now have some gnats/septic flies inside of that pipe 😭😩. They haven’t made it inside the house through the drains YET, but everything I’ve seen online have me terrified that we’ll be infested if we don’t hurry and treat them. I’ve only found suggestions for treating/preventing them through the indoor drains, but nothing on treatments through the outdoor clean out pipe other than having the pipes professionally cleaned. Which was JUST done last week with the repairs 😩 We know for sure there weren’t any gnats in the clean out before having the work done and we’ve never seen them inside our house or coming from any drains, so I also don’t think they were anywhere else in the pipes before that either. But we did both notice that the lid to the clean out was off all day while they worked, and Im kinda thinking that’s where they came from 😩😩😩. But my question is, now that they AREE inside the pipes and are obviously laying eggs, does it all have to be re-cleaned to get rid of them and any eggs/larva? Or is something else needed to treat them? Should I just burn my house down and start over at this point 😂. Helppp!! 😩 This is turning into a nightmare and I know it’ll only get worse if it’s not treated asap.
