What’s hard to understand? That they lost all care?? They are just testing the boundaries of consequence since they questioned everything to meaninglessness. Some enjoy every experience with what little time we have in this world. As they come to terms that nothing matters. Some don’t. Some are still driven to see if there is meaning. But some are testing it beyond the bounds most people see as prudent. You are still asking why when they have stoped.
