I have complex regional pain syndrome and nerve condition no cure , got it after a hip replacement which landed me in hospital for a month when I should have been there few days and I was only 27 ..im 42 now and still struggling ..I hope your mum is okay xx

I went thru the exact same thing, my mums also wheelchair bound, disabled, multiple autoimmune diseases, osteoarthritis,osteoporosis… and the list goes on. She had to stop her medication last year for an operation. ( medication her life depends on, and make her pain more BEARABLE ) she has an op. It’s a complete failure since last November she’s had 4-5 infections with puss pouring out, rushed her into A & E at multiple different hospitals because the actual operation hospital doesnt have an A & E. And they just completely dismissed her. She was in and still is in severe pain. She also suffers with a heart condition. 10 months later they decided to accept that she isnt okay and had to open up and rinse out the puss/infection and now on extremely strong antibiotics. And Still NOT ON HER BIOLOGICS. Shes been crying to them for the past year and all we get is weird looks or, theres nothing we can do. Or no u dont have pain, this case shouldnt have pain. Now literally one YEAR without her meds, she’s unrecognisable, she’s completely in extreme excruciating pain cant move not even to use the commode next to her bed. I dont recognize her anymore its killing me 💔💔💔 shes not eating not sleeping, shes not chatty anymore its absolutely killing me 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 as a revert she’s been extremely strong and patient, but its gone too far … and seeing ur mum like that honestly breaks you.

I have fibromyalgia and I am constantly dismissed for my pain. I’m so sorry your mums going through this - in sha Allah the NHS do provide more support for this soon as its not only proper pain management that’s needed but like you’ve said support and empathy can go along way for someone who’s ill and in pain all the time 🥹
