I’m a first year high school teacher. I deeply care for my students, but I don’t know how to manage my expectations and not take it personal when they don’t follow my classroom rules. For example, last Friday some students just walked out of my class without asking for permission and I didn’t want to make it personal but I just felt defeated. What’s your take on this? I really would love to hear you out

This is true. We need to love children. When children feel loved, learning becomes easier. I had a grade one student who was, what I thought at the time, inlove with me😍he didn't learn anything at all. He was just day dreaming. One day he brought me drawings of cars saying that he will buy me those cars one day. I told him that he will never be able to buy me anything because he can't read or count. He looked at me and said I am going to learn mam. Since that day he was first in class and last to leave, learning as much as he could. He became one of my best students😇
