I’m not talking about the nursery. The pram. The tiny little clothes. Or any of the other things we spend MONTHS preparing 😭 I’d be preparing for maternity leave itself. Because after going through it twice, I know how quickly the reality of living on SMP can hit. The constant mental maths. Watching the food shop somehow get more expensive every week 🙄 Feeling guilty every time you spend on something that isn’t absolutely essential. And that horrible feeling in the back of your mind knowing your time at home with your baby is limited 🥺 So if I found out I was pregnant again tomorrow, I’d spend those 9 months learning a skill that could help me create extra income from home! For me, that was learning about digital products & Canva. Things like planners, invitations, guides, courses and other downloadable products. I started with ready made products whilst I was learning and building confidence then started creating my own 🙌 I wasn’t techy. I had ZERO experience. And I genuinely had no clue what I was doing 😂 I just knew I wanted more options when maternity leave came around again! And honestly… I’m SO glad I gave myself the chance to learn 🥹 Because that decision has now helped me: ✨ Extend my maternity leave ✨ Massively reduce my working hours ✨ Create extra income from my phone ✨ And have so much more time with my girlies And that’s why I’ll never stop talking about this.
