What bothers me is like the way I see it, Nintendo gets different things right in different versions, I wish they would just make the next one have all of the best things. like the island customizability in New Horizons is the best. BUT pair that with the villager personalities and dialogue from Wild World or New Leaf, the extra stuff like the tropical island from New Leaf which is leagues better than the nook Islands or Harv's Island or even HHP.

I feel like obviously the “quality of life” stuff is better in new horizons. Like more customization, storage, etc (except for tools breaking). But new leaf has so much more personality and heart

I genuinely want to know how did we go from new leaf and the creativity around it to what is basically an unfinished game until a couple weeks ago when we got announced the new update for new horizons after they said there were no more new updates

I guess NH is better with all the new features and stuff but it’s extremely apparent how they made it about decorating over being immersive. All they want you to do is decorate and if that feels pointless to you after a while then that’s it. The game is painfully all about aesthetics and bending to your will.

I find myself coming back to new leaf a lot more compared to new horizons, I agree with it hitting a good balance that gives you just enough agency to be creative without giving you so much that the game basically becomes DIY, which I guess that was kinda what they were aiming for
