Both sides are playing political games & leveraging this. If I had to take a guess why Trump would want to withhold emergency funds, it would be that he's expecting this emergency to last a while, & doesn't want to use the emergency funds at the very beginning of the situation. People are more likely to have food & funds left now than they will weeks or months from now.

I don’t get mine till the fourteenth so I’m not sure if it’s gonna happen or not but I hope it happens I need the money for groceries I don’t have enough money to pay bills and pay food too so I’m hoping that I get my food stamps
