Mohammed was born during the time Ethiopian/Eritrea occupied Arabia so early Muslims would have definitely been inspired by them. Quran has a lot of ge’ez loan words.

Orthodox Christianity does not overlap with Islam. Islam derives its practices from the worship practices of Orthodox Christians. There is a difference between overlapping and deriving.

You may be against paying to go into a church but these places need maintenance funds to keep it going. Westminster Abbey, Ely Cathedral both charge; when I went to Seville in Spain, there was a charge to visit the Cathedral there. If you’re not taking part in a service, a reasonable entrance fee is acceptable.

I get that churches should be free, but Ethiopia’s been through so much. war, displacement, and so many people struggling. Especially in the north, tourism is one of the few ways people make money. Complaining about 100 birr (like 1 $) is kind of wild when you think about what locals are going through
